The Red-striped Stick Insect, also called the Belize Stick Insect or Walking Stick, is native to Belize. One of only 4 species in its genus, it looks similar to the orange colour morph of the Southern Two-striped Walkingstick of southeast USA. The wingless genus can spray a chemical that can intensely irritate the eyes and mouth of attackers. Females grow to some 7cm long and males to 4.5cm.
