The Green Bean Stick Insect, also commonly called by its Latin name, Diapherodes gigantea and the Giant Walking Bean, is native to tropical rainforest of several Caribbean islands, including Grenada, St Vincent and the Grenadines. The bright green adult females are up to 16cm long and slow moving. Males narrower, shorter, greenish brown and able to fly. Nymphs are green.
Walking Bean Stick Insect They eat leaves, mainly eucalyptus. Lifespan is 12-18months.
