The Warty Glowspot Cockroach is native to Colombia and Venezuela. Mainly nocturnal, adults
have short, wide wings but don't (usually) fly. Nymphs don't have wings. Females grow to 4cm long.
The name is from the pattern on the adult male's pronutum. Males have two bulbous (warty)
bright orange spots. Although the name "Halloween" refers to another species, the Glowspot is not only black and orange, but
some females, as above, even have a bat silhouette; the female has small, smooth orange spots. Nymphs are black with
orange markings (some saying IVO).
The Headlight Cockroach is similar to its relative, the Warty Glowspot, and is also native to
Colombia. It grows to 4cm long and eats decaying matter high in carotenoids for orange colour.
Adult males have the two bulbous orange spots after which the species is named.
