Brown Lacewings

Brown Lacewing
Brown Lacewing
There are 29 species of Brown Lacewing in the UK, several look very similar and I am not an expert so cannot say what species or even genus this one is. The Brown Lacewings' habits are similar to those of its Green cousins, mainly nocturnal, attracted to light and its larvae eat copious numbers of aphids and garden pests.

The adult Brown Lacewings also tend to eat more insect pests than nectar (unlike their Green counterparts).
