Gorse Shieldbug Piezodorus lituratus

The Gorse Shieldbug, also spelled Shield Bug, is common through much of the UK. It is usually associated with gorse but uses many other plants as well.

Spring and early summer individuals are two-tone green with red antennae but later adults have brown around the scutellum (shield) prior to turning completely reddish brown in winter.
