The Eared Leafhopper is a strange-looking insect. Recognisable as the only European bug with such Dumbo "ears" (and the only European one in its genus). Many thanks to Martin Starnes for the two photos above; I don't know how he manages to entice so many insect subjects to pose on his finger. (He says "whispered words and soft music".)

Not unusual, but rarely seen as it is so well-camouflaged in its oak or lichen habitat. Grows to 13-18mm long. Thanks to Martin Starnes also for the photo above left. The bug above centre/right was attracted to light (as were several froghoppers) during a moth evening.
