Gooden's Nomad Bee is one of several similar-looking nomad bees. It has yellow or orange legs and antennae, with black thighs, and some black on the lower part of antennae in males. Males also have a yellow lower face. It can be distinguished from other Nomada species by no red on its abdomen and an unbroken second yellow bar on the abdomen.

Like the other Nomada, it is a cuckoo bee, laying an egg in the nest of an Andrena species host bee while she gathers pollen for the nest to provide for her own larva.
