Beckeri's (Becker's?) Rhinoceros Beetle is native to west Malayasia and Sumatra and is one of several
Xylotrupes Rhinocerous beetles. It used to be classed as a subspecies of the
Brown Rhinoceros Beetle, Xylotrues gideon, of Java, Indonesia.
Only the males have the facial horns, used for fighting other males; males can reach some 7cm long (including horn).
The beetle can be shiny black or shiny brown. Females do not have horns.
