Oberthueri Flower Beetle Mecynorhina oberthueri (also Chelorrhina oberthueri)

Mecynorhina oberthueri is one of the Giant Fruit or Flower Beetles native to forests of tropical Africa. It is mainly known from forests of Tanzania. The adult male (above left and centre) has a frontal horn used for fighting rival males. The female (above right) doesn't have the horn but has a shovel nose for burrowing.
