The 22-spot Ladybird is small and has a bright yellow background colour with black spots. There are 10-11 spots on each wing-case.
The spots rarely (never?) fuse together.
There are another 5 spots on the "pronotum" or thorax shield. One variant (usually or always male) has a white background to the pronotum.
