Sulphurous Jewel Beetle Julodis euphratica

The Sulphurous Jewel Beetle is one of several large, chafer-type beetles in the Julodis genus. It is native from the Middle East to Central Asia. The female is much larger than the male. Like other Julodis the larvae are wood borers and can damage trees. The photos were taken by Alexandra Makhnina in Kazakhstan.
