Cyan-blue Flower Beetle Protaetia/Cetonischema speciosa cyanochlora

The Cyan-blue Flower Beetle is a subspecies of a flower beetle whose other subspecies are normally metallic green (like hundreds of other flower beetle species) and can be bright red.

The species is native to forests of the Near East and Caucasus.

The grubs eat rotting wood and the adults, appearing in the summer months, eat rotting fruit or tree sap. Adults grow to some 3cm in length.
