Various Grasshoppers of Kazakhstan

Grasshopper, Kazakhstan This enormous grasshopper with particulalrly long antennae investigated the inside of our yurt on the Kazakh steppe. I haven't been able to ascertain her species yet.
Morroccan Locust The above red-necked grasshopper is thought to be the Moroccan Locust, Dociostaurus maroccanus, which is prevalent from the Canary Islands in the west to Kazakhstan in the east, including North Africa and Mediterranean Europe. They spend most of their lives as solitary grasshoppers but occasionally gather to swarm as locusts.
