Tenerife Bush-crickets

The two Bush-crickets (also Bush Crickets) above were photographed on the northern part of the island of Tenerife.

This one is Platycleis sabulosa taken up in the meadow grasslands of Teno Alto - many thanks to Werner Reitmeier in Austria for the ID. They can be green or brown depending on season/habitat. (I don't approve of the way in which our friend, a local resident, is holding the cricket.)

This small bush-cricket nymph was on a flower in a garden in Puerto de la Cruz. Again thanks to Werner Reitmeier for the ID of Phaneroptera sparsa, a bush or leaf cricket prevalent in Spain and South Africa.
