Australian Black Field Cricket Teleogryllus commodus

The Australian Black Field Cricket is native to Australia and introduced to New Zealand (these shown in NZ). Despite the name, the body can be black or dark brown.

They grow to some 3cm long. Diet can be any plant matter and they can be significant plant pests.
