The Ornate Wobbegong is a carpet shark native to the Australian western Pacific. It is sometimes
called the Banded Wobbegong, but that name is more usually applied to its relative, the larger Gulf Wobbegong.
Mainly nocturnal, it grows to 1.2 metres long.
The Japanese Wobbegong is a carpet shark native to the western Pacific from Japan to the Philippines.
It grows to a metre long. Like other wobbegongs, it uses its camouflage to hunt as an ambush predator and also to evade predators.
