The Brown-banded Bamboo Shark is native to coral reefs and coastal pools of the western Pacific Ocean.
Juveniles are dark brown and white banded. Adults are plainish brown with shadow brown bands which they eventually lose.
They are mainly nocturnal and lay brown rectangular egg pouches.
They grow to about a metre long. They are not aggresssive and not dangerous to humans. They are threatened by habitat loss,
pollution and fishing.
The White-spotted Bamboo Shark is native to reefs of the western Pacific Ocean.
It grows to just under a metre long. They live mainly on the sea floor and are mainly nocturnal.
