The Giant Freshwater Stingray is native to large rivers (including estuaries) of Southeast Asia (Indochina, especially the Mekong and Chao Phraya, and Borneo). Historically it had a wider range including South Asia. It is the largest stingray in the world and one of the largest freshwater fish, growing to 2.2 metres across.
