The Fiddler Ray is also called Fiddler Guitarfish or Banjofish, all after the shape of its body. They are native to the coasts of eastern and southern Australia. Shown is the Eastern Fiddler species.

The Eastern Fiddler has a triangle marking just behind its eyes, whereas the Southern Fiddler, T. dumerilii, has three parallel lines just behind it eyes. Both have the attractive stripey markings.
