Greater Spotted Catshark Scyliorhinus stellaris

The Greater Spotted Catshark has a number of alternative and previous names including Starry Hound, Nursehound, Bull Huss and, previously, Greater Spotted Dogfish. It is native to shallow water of the northeastern Atlantic from Norway to Senegal, including the Mediterranean. It grows to about a metre and a half long long. Nocturnal, it is vulnerable from over-fishing and habitat loss.
