The Blubber Jellyfish is native to coasts of the Indo-western Pacific, particularly along the east coast of Australia
where large aggregations can appear in estuarine waters. It is also called the Blue Blubber, which can be misleading since it
can be Prussian blue around Queensland in northern Australia but can be creamy white or maroon brown around Sydney.
Its bell grows to 35-45cm diameter with short tentacles. Its sting is mild.
It eats zooplankton caught on its tentacles.
