The West Australian Seahorse is a large seahorse endemic to silty coasts of western Australia. Growing to 22cm long, they have distinctive black or brown stripes on their long snout. Basic colour varies from yellow, orange, grey, brown, white, pink, maroon and purple. Like other seahorses, they can gradually change their colour to suit surroundings. Males tend to be darker.
