Sea Pony Hippocampus fuscus

The Sea Pony is a smallish Seahorse (to 14cm long) native to the Indian Ocean. It is now also found in the Mediterranean Sea. It is closely related to the Common or Yellow Seahorse. Some authorities class it as the same species and some as a separate species. It is said to have entered the Mediterranean after construction of the Suez Canal opened to the Red Sea.
