Orange Spine Urchin Tripneustes gratilla

The Orange Spine Urchin is sometimes called Collector Urchin as debris tends to collect on them (or they collect it for camouflage). It is also called the Pincushion Urchin.

It has a dark body colour with orange and white spines (sometimes only white).

It is native to the Indo-Pacific Oceans and grows to 10-15cm round. They graze day and night on seagrass and algae.
