This Mine Urchin, one of several Mine or Pencil Urchins, is native to the Caribbean. Its beak-like mouth on the underside eats algae from rocks and coral. Over time, the urchin itself often carries tangled algae, providing camouflage. It can point its spines towards potential predators.
