Bat Starfish Patiria (prev. Asterina) miniata

The Bat Starfish or Bat Sea Star is native to coastal waters of the northeast Pacific from Alaska to Mexico. It comes in many colours including red, orange, green, blue and brown, and usually has five short wide arms. It is named after the webbing of a bat's wing. It can grow to 20cm across although it is usually half that. Diet is both plant and animal, alive or dead.
