The Peppermint Shrimp is named after its pink colour with red stripes like peppermint candy. It is native to
the US Atlantic coast and Gulf of Mexico. It grows to 7cm long. All are born male and can transition to female as adults.
Despite its pink colours, eggs are bright green. In aquaculture, the shrimps are used as tank cleaners, eating detritus
and aiptasia, a pest anemone.
