Spiny lobsters, also called rock lobsters, don't have claws with pincers. The European Spiny Lobster is native to rocks of the northeastern Atlantic including western UK and the Mediterranean.

Its body is usually orangey-brown (but can be purple or pale brown) with two rows of white spots. It has long, banded antennae. It can grow to 60cm (2 feet) long.
