(European) Grayling Thymallus thymallus

The Grayling, called the European Grayling when needed to distinguish from other species of Grayling, is a member of the salmon family native to clean rivers and lakes in northern and eastern Europe. Of striped appearance, long-bodied with an attractive dorsal fin and disproportionately large eyes, the Grayling can grow to a maximum 60cm (2 feet) long but is usually much less.
