Sultan Barb
This is thought to be the Sultan Barb which is native to Indochina, particularly the Mekong river system. It grows up to a metre long. Its lifestyle of living downstream and travelling upstream for spawning is threatened by dams and deforestation, the latter particularly affecting the flooded forests it feeds in. Hoven's Carp, L. hoevenii, is also known as the Sultan Barb - the two are similar in appearance and were classified as separate species in 2009. However, with the very red tail, this may actually be one of the Tinfoil species.
