The Tail-spot Wrasse is native to reefs of the western Pacific from Japan to Australia's Great Barrier Reef. Males (above) have brighter colours than females (below).

Females have the tail spot, a small, white-bordered black spot, and another on the dorsal fin. Adults can grow to 12cm long.
