Quoy's Parrotfish Scarus quoyi

The attractive Quoy's Parrotfish are native to reefs of the Indo-Pacific and grow to some 40cm (16inches) long.

Parrotfish are named after their curved beak-like snouts ...

not after their ability to talk! (nor even their colours.)

They are related to the colourful wrasse but have beak-like fused dentition to scrape algae off rock and coral.
