The Midnight Parrotfish are native to reefs of the Caribbean, Bahamas and Florida. With beaklike teeth to scrape
algae from rocks and corals, they grow typically to some 30-60cm long but can reach nearly 1 metre. Male, female and juveniles have
the same colouring. Individuals often join schools of Blue Tang for protection since the Tangs have sharp tail spines to
deter predators.
