The Orange-dotted Tuskfish is a wrasse is native to coral reefs of the Indo-Pacific Ocean, from Sri Lanka to
Japan and Polynesia. It grows to 50cm long.
"Why am I called a Tuskfish?" Its sharp teeth for its diet of marine invertebrates sometimes protrude.
The flank is greyish with some orange or yellow but "orange-dotted" is not a key feature.
The fish are born female and can become male when mature. They, together with some other species of tuskfish,
have been observed using "tools" - ie a selected rock or hard coral where they carry clams to smash them open.
