The colourful Harlequin Tuskfish is a wrasse is native to coral reefs of the western Pacific Ocean, in the area
around Japan and Taiwan and in Australasia.
It is brightly coloured with blues, yellows and greens banded in red and orange. It grows to 30cm (one foot) long.
Its sharp teeth for its diet of marine invertebrates sometimes protrude - hence the name tuskfish.
The fish is born female and can become male when mature.
Juvenile Harlequin Tuskfish, above, are less colourful.
