The Spanish Hogfish is a type of wrasse native to reefs and rocks of the western Atlantic from Bermuda and the US Gulf
via the Caribbean to Brazil.
It grows to a length of some 30cm, but can exceptionally reach 40cm.

Juveniles have a blue, purple or reddish purple back on a bright yellow body. They set up cleaning stations
to eat parasites off larger fish.
The "beak" shows the relationship to Parrotfish.
Adults have a redder or bluer body. They eat marine crustaceans, molluscs and echinoderms (urchins, brittlestars).
