The Coral Hogfish has several other common names including the Split-level and the Blackbelt Hogfish. It is a wrasse native to reefs of the eastern Indian and western Pacific Oceans, the latter between Japan and Australia. It grows to some 25cm long. Juveniles are maroon with yellow blotches.
