The Wolf Eel, the only species in its genus, is not an eel but an elongated marine fish related to
the wolffishes (sea wolves). It is native to very cold water of the northern Pacific. They swim like eels and can grow to
nearly 8 feet (2.5 metres) long. They have strong jaws and prey on crustaceans and clams. They pair for life, the pair
living in the same cave and guarding their eggs from predators. Juveniles are orange with black spots.
