Wedgetail Triggerfish Rhinecanthus rectangulus

The Wedgetail Triggerfish, also called the Reef Triggerfish (but most triggerfish inhabit reefs), is native to coral reefs of the Indian Ocean and western/central Pacific Ocean (to Hawaii).

It can grow to 30cm long. Diet is mainly algae scrapped off rock and coral by its strong teeth, but also includes small crustaceans. The fish is territorial and can make 4 distinct sounds to communicate: grinding, drumming, grunting and snapping.
