The Picasso Triggerfish is native to reefs of the Indian and Pacific Oceans. It's name is from the colourful and
artistic markings which look like an artwork, possibly ressembling Picasso's style.
It is also called the Lagoon Triggerfish and can grow to some 30 cm long.
They are territorial, with both male and female guarding a territory against their own kind and suspected predators
for several years. Male territories can overlap with female territories.
Mothers guard eggs until they hatch. Diet is varied including crustaceans, molluscs, other fish and plant material.
