The Clown Triggerfish is native to reefs of the Indian and western Pacific Oceans.It's name is derived from its
clown-like markings.
It is also called the Big-spotted Triggerfish and can grow to some 50 cm long. It has sharp teeth.
They are solitary and territorial and will raise their long black first dorsal fin like a shark to threaten enemies.
Diet is varied including crustaceans, molluscs, echinoderms and worms.
