The Giant Trevally is native to tropical seas of the Indo-Pacific, from southern Africa to Japan/Hawaii/Australia. It has a shiny silver body with small black spots (old fish can become black) and grows to 1.7 metres long. They hunt individually or in schools, mainly fish but also seabirds and molluscs/crustaceans. Juveniles can live in low salinity coastal lakes and rivers.
