Diamond Trevally Alectis indica

Diamond Trevally
Diamond Trevally
The Diamond Trevally, also called Indian Threadfin Trevally, is native to tropical seas of the Indian and western Pacific. It has a shiny silver, angular body and grows to 1.6 metres long. Diamond-shaped juveniles have long filaments trailing from their dorsal and anal fins (threadfins) which discourage predators. The filaments reduce and the body elongates as they mature.
