The Whitetail Bristletooth Tang/Kole is native to tropical reefs of the central Pacific Ocean. Its background colour is maroon (red-brown to purplish) with light (white/pale blue) spots on its purplish face and thin stripes on the body. It can look similar to other Kole Tangs of that colour, but is distinguished by its white tail. Its gold eye ring is round only half of the eye. It grows to some 16 cm long.
