The Striped Surgeonfish, also called the Blue-lined Tang (but not the Blueline Surgeonfish which is a different species), is native to reefs of the Indo-Pacific Oceans. It reaches 38 cm long. Its sharp tail spines are said to be venomous. Diet is mainly algae. Males are territorial and defend a harem of females but fish school together when spawning.
