The Indian Goldring (Gold Ring) Tang or Bristletooth, also called Squaretail Tang/Bristletooth,
is native to tropical reefs of the Indian Ocean. Its background colour is maroon (red-brown to purplish) with light (white/pale blue)
spots. It can look similar to the Kole Tangs (C. strigosus) of that colour, but, as its scientific name suggests,
the tail is "truncated" or squared without the elongated lyretail shape of the Kole. Also its gold eye ring is round only half of
the eye and the body has spots rather than stripes. It grows to some 20 cm long.
