Gem Tang Zebrasoma gemmatum

The Gem Tang, also called the Spotted Tang which can lead to confusion with other spotted tangs, is native to reefs of the western Indian Ocean.

They can grow to some 22 cm long. They have a black body with a pale yellow tail, both covered in small white spots. From a distance, one can look similar to the related Purple or Yellowtail Tang (partly shown in the top right image).
