The Elongate Surgeonfish is also called the Blue-lined Surgeonfish, the latter name confusing with the
alternative name of the Striped Surgeonfish and also with the Blueline Surgeonfish. It is native to the Indian Ocean through to
the mid-Pacific.
It has faint light blue lines on its body and yellow on its face (mainly eyeline and upper lip. The Eyestripe
Surgeonfish and the Yellowfin Surgeonfish also have a yellow line through the eye).
The dorsal fin is also yellow, as is the edge of the anal fin. The fish can grow to 50cm long and diet is mainly plankton.
