Humpback Snapper Lutjanus gibbus

The Humpback Red Snapper, also called just Humpback Snapper, is native to reefs of the Indian and western Pacific Oceans. Adult fish grow to about half a metre.

Juveniles are more silvery and adults more red or reddish brown.

Young adults and subadults school around coral reefs by day, while juveniles hide and senior adults tend to roam singly in deeper waters.
