The Shorthorn Sculpin, also called the Short-spined Sea Scorpion among other names, is a non-venomous scorpionfish native to sea-beds of the north Atlantic, from temperate to Arctic regions (it has antifreeze proteins). It can grow to 30cm (one foot) in length in temperate zones but nearly twice that in Arctic waters. It preys on crustaceans and small fish.
